Blight committee backs major fines reductions for two properties

Blight Review Committee · Meeting of January 8, 2026

CT ENFIELD — Enfield Blight Review Committee votes to slash over $200K in fines across two properties. Meeting on January 8 saw the committee recommend to Town Council a reduction of $125,274 in maintenance fines to $1,000 for 3 Cook Avenue after a pending buyer completed required siding and porch repairs; it also voted unanimously to forgive all $76,524 in fines at 11 Sherwin Drive after the owner settled a sewer balance. The case at 42 Asnuntuck Street, under review since May 2025 with work still incomplete, was shifted to a standing "Unfinished Business" track to prevent it from slipping off the agenda. ===BRIEF===
