Blight Review Committee supports $51,961 fine reduction at Weymouth Road

Blight Review Committee · Meeting of March 5, 2026

CT ENFIELD — Blight committee unanimously backs property owner's remediation plan at 132 Weymouth Road. Deputy Mayor John Santanella and Councilor Carol Hall, liaising with the committee, supported the unanimous recommendation to reduce property maintenance fines to $51,961 for the boarded-up building with a damaged canopy and parking lot. The prospective buyer, planning to apply for a Brownfield grant and relocate their business, must submit a remediation plan within two months of closing and present it for committee review.

Separate liens and sewer expenses owed at closing will not be reduced; closing must occur within 15 days of Town Council approval.
