Board of Education · Meeting of January 27, 2026

CT ENFIELD — Enfield schools terminate town repayment pact, approve budget revision. The Board of Education unanimously approved termination of its Town Council MOU (9-0-0) on January 27, eliminating mandatory repayment obligations that had limited the district's budgeting flexibility as an Alliance District. An updated 2025-26 budget incorporating $285,000 in new appropriations from the town was approved 6-2-1, with Board member Philip Kober abstaining; an amendment motion by Kober to redirect those funds failed 3-5-1.

Superintendent Steven A. Moccio presented a preliminary 2026-27 budget including Pre-K tuition increases to $100 monthly for half-day programs and staffing additions for instructional coaches and librarians at each elementary school.
