Board approves Head Start plan, kindergarten policies

CT ENFIELD — Enfield Board of Education approves Head Start plan and kindergarten policies. Jaclyn Valley, Director of Early Childhood Initiatives, presented the 2025-26 Head Start Self-Assessment Plan, drawing on 10 to 40 community partners annually; the board voted unanimously to adopt it. The board advanced Policies 5111 and 6111 in a second reading to codify Connecticut's phase-out of kindergarten entry waivers after this school year.
A separate 8-1 vote repealed the now-obsolete Policy 6111.1, with Board member Philip Kober dissenting.
