Board of Education presents FY2027 budget with 4.97 percent increase

CT ENFIELD — Board of Education presents FY2027 budget increase proposal to Council. Superintendent Steven Moccio and Board Chair Amanda Pickett presented a 4.97 percent increase totaling approximately 3.9 million dollars, with 1.5 million dollars allocated to a new teachers' contract approved last November. The Board is requesting twelve new positions while managing conflicting enrollment trends: declining high school enrollment and rising elementary enrollment.
Moccio reported the schools' full 2 percent reserve fund of 1.5 million, with an anticipated year-end balance of approximately 1 million.
