Commission approves contested duplex permit with split vote

CT ENFIELD — Enfield Planning and Zoning Commission narrowly approves duplex permit. The board voted 4-3 on May 14 to approve a special use permit for Jose Cabrera's application at 5 Harris Street, with Director of Planning Laurie Whitten confirming staff satisfaction with the revised site plan. Commissioners Linda DeGray, John Petronella, and Rob Anderson voted against, citing safety and parking concerns.
The commission also unanimously approved a special use permit for Nicole Campisi and Axel Colon to expand a structure and add an 856-square-foot garage at 2 Dale Road, and sent a positive referral to the Town Council for the sale of Lot 29 Main Street to the state Department of Transportation for train station parking.
