Commission defers decision on tenant complaint pending inspection

CT ENFIELD — Fair Rent Commission defers final decision in tenant dispute pending June 26 inspection. Chair Linda DeGray heard a continuation of Wanda Reyes' complaint against Elena Jovanovic regarding unfinished tub renovations, inadequate pet and lead paint disclosures, and maintenance issues. Building permits have been closed and the lead advisory provided, but a signed lead disclosure has not been received and no new lease executed.
Commissioners found damage was not deliberate, determined the complaint's basis has been remedied, and recommended Jovanovic join the Connecticut Landlord's Association and create a new lease with lead certificate and pet addendum. Chair DeGray will issue final recommendations after the Fire Marshal inspection.
