Commission revises bylaws to clarify ex-officio member authority
Agricultural Commission · Meeting of January 13, 2026
CT ENFIELD — Enfield Agricultural Commission clarifies ex-officio member authority in bylaw revisions. Chair Karen LaPlante and the commission voted unanimously to send their bylaws back to Town staff to clarify where the authority to appoint ex-officio liaisons to other boards appears in the document and whether such members can vote. The Economic Development Commission bylaws require appointments from the Agricultural Commission, but the Agricultural Commission currently has no formal liaison.
The commission voted 6 to 1 to table the appointment of a liaison pending completion of the bylaw revisions, with Commissioner William Cote voting against tabling.
