Conservation Commission advances open space and aquifer protection work

CT ENFIELD — Enfield Conservation Commission works to advance environmental and open space protection initiatives. The seven-member panel approved prior minutes and reviewed ongoing goals including identifying open space parcels for Town Council consideration, creating trail maps, identifying vernal pools, and developing aquifer protection regulations. Commissioner Megan Kelley reported on the Aquifer Protection subcommittee's efforts to create detailed mapping for wetlands review.
Chair William Cote shared correspondence from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection regarding a grant received for the Thompsonville boat launch and communications from Sustainable CT about solar projects.
