Council backs $3.2 million transportation grant; halts Parkman roof work

CT ENFIELD — Council unanimously backs $3.2 million federal grant for transportation corridor planning. Town Manager Matthew Coppler was authorized to submit the $3.2 million US Department of Transportation BUILD application for a 2.5-mile corridor between the proposed train station and Palomba Drive. Director Aaron Marcavitch said the planning would address failing intersections, reduce crash rates, and coordinate redevelopment projects, potentially leveraging $500 million in public and private investment.
The Council also suspended the Edgar H. Parkman School roof replacement project pending a school demolition referendum decision.
