CT ENFIELD — Enfield elementary school committee prepared for November 3 referendum. The Pre-K Through 5 and Eagle Academy School Pre-Referendum Building Committee, chaired by Randy Daigle, discussed operational readiness for a consolidation project reducing six school buildings to four. The Town Council approved the plan for referendum; estimated utility costs for the consolidated buildings were $600,000 to $700,000 annually over five years.

Daigle highlighted staffing concerns and cited a past $68,000 floor damage incident at JFK Middle School caused by inadequate custodian training; he called for the town to hire dedicated maintenance staff. The committee was preparing two tax calculators for voters showing both referendum outcome scenarios.
