Enfield approves $6,140 for monument restoration and commemorative display

CT ENFIELD — Enfield America250 committee approves $6,140 for summer monument and commemorative display projects. The committee unanimously approved $5,000 for Thomas Abbey monument restoration and approved $1,140 for a wood cutout to be created by Shannon Esslinger and Alex Ranniello (with Esslinger and Ranniello abstaining from the cutout vote). Planned events include June 1 presentation of three essay award winners at the Town Council meeting and Declaration of Independence reading on July 8 featuring Susan Bigelow of the Historical Society.
The July 4-12 celebration will feature exhibits and the wood cutout display.
