Enfield Blight Committee seeks property maintenance inspectors

CT ENFIELD — The Enfield Blight Review Committee unanimously votes to expand property maintenance inspector positions. The committee met June 4 and voted unanimously to request town staff develop two year-round, part-time inspector positions to expand from the current single inspector. Deputy Mayor John Santanella told the committee that this expansion, combined with recent ordinance changes allowing inspectors to leave door hangers without written complaints, will help accelerate blight remediation.
The positions will be funded from the property maintenance and lien account for either two or three years, and the committee also voted unanimously to waive $549 in property maintenance fines for 28 Maple Avenue.
