CT ENFIELD — Enfield Culture Commission approved $3,740 poet laureate budget, eagle sculpture project subject to council approval. The commission voted unanimously to fund the Enfield Poetry Festival and Red Poetry, Red Art, and Red Tea events through April 2027, with motion made by member Joyce Bolanos and seconded by Danielle Brown. Separately, members approved $10,000 for the Enfield Eagles public art project, contingent on Town Council approval scheduled for an upcoming November meeting, to fund a custom mold and initial sculpture.
The commission also unanimously approved $120 for Festival of Trees refreshments on December 17.
