Enfield Town Council schedules $511M school bond hearing for August 24
Town Council · Meeting of August 3, 2026
CT ENFIELD — Enfield Town Council schedules $511M school-construction hearing with an $89M local share. The council unanimously approved scheduling a public hearing for August 24 to allow public comment on a four-school construction and one-school conversion project estimated to cost residents $89 million out of a $511 million total appropriation, with the remainder funded by state grants and available funds. Town Manager Matthew Coppler noted the figure assumes a 70 percent state waiver and may decrease if additional incentives or space waivers are approved.
The council separately agreed to allocate $300,000 in state emergency-services funding: $15,000 to emergency services equipment and $285,000 to critical building repairs including roof work and electrical panel replacement.
