CT ENFIELD — Enfield Zoning Board of Appeals approves variance for fire department training facility. The board unanimously approved a variance allowing Shaker Pines Fire District to construct a three-story training facility at 37 Bacon Road, with a height of 25 to 30 feet required to meet NFPA, OSHA, and ISO standards for ladder operations and rescue training. The one-acre property in the I-1 zone contains wetlands and flood zones; separate Wetlands Agent approval will be required.
The board also extended two related appeals filed by property owner Joseph Raschi: one at 174 Shaker Road to September 28, 2026, and another at 130 Shaker Road to July 27, 2026.
