Enfield's America250 committee announces essay winners, finalizes summer event calendar

CT ENFIELD — The Enfield America250 Coordinating Committee awarded essay contest prizes totaling $500 and finalized plans for summer commemorative events. Three students received awards: McKenna $250 for 20 rubric points, Hannah $150 for 17.5 points, and Samantha $100 for 10 points. The committee confirmed events including a May 19 Veterans Banners Dedication, a July 10-12 tent celebration, and a July 8 Declaration of Independence reading at Old Town Hall.
Committee members discussed merchandise options and deferred time-capsule or memorial-tree decisions pending future town council funding requests.
