CT ENFIELD — The Enfield Fair Rent Commission recommended bylaw amendments standardizing meeting times to 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month, citing newly established protocols and procedures. In a tenant case involving Laurie Harkins, the commission approved a phased rent increase: $1,990 monthly effective March 1, 2026, and $2,100 monthly effective June 1, 2026. The commission clarified that the landlord cannot evict Harkins and may terminate her tenancy only with a lease exit provision allowing 30 days' written notice.
The commission also determined emergency boiler repairs may proceed with one-hour notice.
