CT ENFIELD — Enfield subcommittee considers tax hardship cases in routine meeting. The 8-member General Government and Finance Subcommittee voted 2-0 to accept prior meeting minutes and addressed 3 individual taxpayer cases: a sewer issue for Ronald and Janice St. Amand with potential interest and penalty waiver, a tax hardship claim by Jessica Bowling pending divorce documentation, and Timothy Riordan's motor vehicle tax hardship resulting in a motion to suspend interest and waive $44.47.
Members also removed several standing items from the agenda: out-of-state car registrations, food vendor rules, and a solar farm moratorium. The subcommittee noted declining tax collection rates with increased defaults on vehicle, home, and personal property accounts.
