Town Council · Meeting of May 4, 2026
CT ENFIELD — Enfield Town Council approves $584,009 transfer to replace Annex field turf. The Council approved the transfer from fund balance to replace deteriorating synthetic turf at the Annex, with Councilor Marie Pyznar as the sole dissent citing concerns about timing during budget deliberations. Mayor Gina Cekala said completion is targeted for early July, ahead of the fall football season.
Councilor Carol Hall raised concerns about PFAS chemicals in synthetic turf and requested the town investigate alternative materials. The Council also approved three Community Investment Fund grant applications totaling $7,750,000, accepted a $500,000 federal grant for Thompsonville streetscaping, and appointed Jennifer Bakowski to the Blight Review Committee and Christopher Renaud to the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency.
