Town Council schedules public hearing on $511 million school construction appropriation

CT ENFIELD — Enfield Town Council unanimously schedules September hearing for $511 million school construction appropriation. The Council voted unanimously on August 25 to approve Resolution 7676, scheduling a September 2 public hearing at 6 p.m. in Town Hall Council Chambers. The $511 million appropriation encompasses new construction of four elementary schools — Hazardville Memorial, Prudence Crandall, Parkman, and Barnard — and conversion of Eli Whitney Elementary into the Eagle Academy Therapeutic Day School.
The town will seek authorization to issue up to $89 million in bonds or notes, with remaining funds from grants and other available sources. Seven Council members voted to schedule the hearing.
