Enfield arts commission approves $6,426 Art Squash budget, coordinates America 250 programming

CT ENFIELD — Enfield Culture and Arts Commission approves $7,826 in budgets for arts and cultural events. The commission unanimously backed a $6,426 Art Squash festival in October featuring local artists, a $500 Poet Laureate stipend to Nzima Hutchings for the Red Poetry event, $500 sponsorship of the Women's Club Art Show, and $400 in summer concert series signage. Economic Development representative Aaron Marcavitch outlined major initiatives including Thompsonville Revitalization, which recently received $1 million in state funding for streetscaping improvements, and America 250 programming slated through year-end, including a $50,000 façade program offering matching funds for business improvements and public art installations.
