Charter Commission adopts council language, keeps stipend as written

Charter Revision Commission · Meeting of April 21, 2026

CT ENFIELD — The Enfield Charter Revision Commission approved three charter amendments at its April 21 meeting. Commissioners unanimously adopted revised language for Chapter 3 Section 1 governing the council, Chapter 6 Section 11 using "liaisons" instead of "board members," and Chapter 5 Section 9 on the Department of Public Works. Town Manager Coppler confirmed council members do not currently exercise reimbursement rights in the charter.

On the council stipend question, the commission voted to keep charter language as written, with all commissioners in support except Justyn Elemen, who abstained. ===BRIEF===
